Atelier Meridian is an art studio for printmakers in Portland, Oregon. We draw on the vast experience of artists and educators, printmakers and painters, from the Northwest and beyond. Our mission is to promote printmaking by providing the general public with a 24-hour printmaking studio facility, as well as a place to teach and learn. We wish to provide a creative outlet for artists and community members through workshops and memberships.

Atelier Meridian is equipped with 4 presses and the tools to create Etchings, collagraphs, monotypes, woodcuts, letterpress and eventually Lithography. Artists can rent press time by the day, week, or month. We also provide assisted Monotype sessions and contract printing of editions. Print Arts Northwest members receive a 10% discount on workshops and memberships at the facility. A good print studio runs on comraderie as much as its fine presses. One Friday a month everyone, members and gawkers alike, are invited to come in and have those conversations you'd meant to have during the week but found your head too deep in the acid to engage. There will be drinks and snacks and Someone Special coming in to show and tell something you’d been wondering about anyway.

This month at Ink & Drink, Gabriel Liston will do an etching demo, asking the question, Do ferric chloride & wine really mix? Folks can witness grounding of a plate, drawing in with a needle, tossing in the acid bath, and pulling a print.

You'll see works by Carol Berryhill, Sandra Carlson, Michael Evan, Daniel Jasa, Jenn Lawrence, Gabriel Liston, Barbara Mason, Katherine McDowell, Jane Pagliarulo, Lorraine Richey, F. X.
